This is just a quick post about a few things that I have bought recently for the nice weather. Unfortunately where I live, we don't get summer that quickly but we have had a few nice days lately so I couldn't resist starting some pre-summer shopping.
This is my mini-haul all of which I either got from Walmart or Ardenes. I still haven't had the chance of wearing the bathing suit tops yet but everything else I am completely in love with.
These are the two bathing suit tops I purchased from Walmart. They were both pretty cheap at $10 each. The polka dot one is very reminiscent of the pin up style and it can be changed to tie around the neck or be a strapless. The second leopard patterned one is becoming quite popular this season. It looks like a tank that has been cropped. It's cute and a little more covered up if you don't want to be so exposed!
I saw a picture recently of a girl who had her hair up and had a pin up style bandanna wrapped around her head. I fell in love with this look the second I saw it and had to recreate it. I was looking in Ardenes and saw these head bands that were 5/$10 and I decided that they were close enough to the look I wanted and picked out 5 summery patterns. (There are only 4 in the picture because I was wearing one when I took the pictures!) These go so well with any outfit and can be used for dress up occasions or just casual if your hair is dirty and didn't feel like doing much with it.
As I was looking through Ardenes I stumbled across the jewelry section and I fell in love with this set of bracelets. I thought for the summer a pop of color like this turquoise would be nice and I am a sucker for anything with studs so when I saw that I just had to have it. The bracelets were 2/$10.
For the summer I love nail art and these Sally Hansen stickers have been popular lately. I was reluctant to try them because they aren't particularly cheap and I was worried they would just peel off right away. But I was happy to be wrong! They stayed on perfectly longer than my nail polish did and I think as an accent on the ring finger looks great. And a nice way to add something special to a do it yourself manicure.
Hope this helped inspire some ideas
Until next time!
